Our mission trip is coming quickly with our departure on July 10th! I can’t thank everyone enough for their financial support and prayers as these plans have come together. Our group of eighteen is very excited as we count down the days! I humbly ask that you please continue to keep our participants and their families in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare for this week-long journey.
While journeying to and from Benton Harbor, our group plans on stopping at the three Marian shrines in Wisconsin: The Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe, Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill, and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.

We are eager to visit these places of pilgrimage and prayer. Please, know that we will holding you all in our hearts and prayers throughout the week and at these holy sites. Stay tuned for how you can connect and pray with us during our trip!

Worship Space Improvements Ready To Bid
In our last update, we described the audio-visual system improvements that were proposed during the 2019 parish meetings. The system included two projection screens, two projectors, an improved sound system, microphones for the celebrant, lectors and musicians, personal ear units for the hearing impaired, and the equipment necessary to live-stream liturgies and other events. The work was completed last fall and winter Thanks to your financial generosity during the initial portion of the capital campaign, we are ready to move forward with the next phase of activity – the sanctuary improvements. Below is the overall schedule and the best information that we have at this time. More details will follow in the coming weeks as we move closer to the start of construction. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience and flexibility as we complete these enhancements to the space where we celebrate our Lord’s gift to us through the liturgy.

Next Phase as Funds Are Raised
The next phase of our master plan will be remodeling the Gathering Space and creating a small expansion to include a new chapel and restrooms. Of course, this phase is dependent on our ability to raise the needed funds as we move forward. Below are the proposed objectives and the conceptual cost estimates in 2021 dollars. This is the best information that we have at this time.
Loving God, be with us as we embark on a sacred journey as we look ahead to our future, and the ways we can grow St. Anastasia Catholic Church and School. We ask that you guide and direct our steps. Give us wisdom to discern our future direction. Give us your vision to see the path we must walk. And give us courage to make decisions for the good of all. May we remember we are to be Christ for one another; responsible, compassionate, just and faithful, embracing our future as the people of God. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Thank You, Twins Community Fund!
We are thrilled to announce that we received an $8,000 grant from the Twins Community Fund to support the renovation of the ball field on our property. This ball field is used by more than 350 kids each summer through PRCE, Hutchinson Softball Association and Hutchinson Jr. Baseball. St. Anastasia is collaborating with Hutchinson PRCE to renovate the ball field; we hope to break ground in June 2021. Stay tuned for updates!

Renovations & Capital Campaign Update
We have completed a phase of renovations to our church with the addition of the audio/visual system. We are continuing to fine tune our understanding of the equipment and train our volunteers on how to best use the equipment. The cost of this phase was $150,000, which included a built-in AV booth and the AV equipment. This equipment allows us to provide a high-quality livestream, as well as project readings and music so that attendees can participate in the Mass. Thank you for your support of these improvements.

The building committee is now looking at a second phase that will include the renovation of the sanctuary (altar area). First, we are looking at leveling off the sanctuary platform, adding a ramp for people to get into the sanctuary, and lightening the colors of the sanctuary. Second, we will also be looking at a light reduction material for the windows to lessen the intense sunlight on the interior of the church. Third, we will also be studying the additional use of acoustical material to help with the audio concerns in the building. And last, we will be looking at enhancing the lighting of the church with additional lamps, upgrading wiring, and replacing the dimming panel. Estimated cost is $500,000. Thank you for your ongoing support of our renovations.
