Alpha

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.

Each Alpha session has food, an engaging video, and conversation with others. The discussion time is what makes Alpha unique. The group leader will start the conversation but the direction it goes is up to the group. You are free to share anything you believe. Join the conversation!

Participating in Alpha has been fun and thought provoking. I have enjoyed going through this experience with my husband and a great group of St A’s parishioners. Our faith is in constant need of nourishment. I recommend Alpha as a source of nourishment for growth and confidence to strengthen your faith to be more bold in bringing others to Jesus.

Discipleship Quad
Discipleship Quad is a group of four people who journey together as disciples through weekly gatherings of fellowship, ongoing conversion, and learning. This 12-month path of accompaniment fosters growth through prayer, accountability, and authentic relationships. Contact Fr. Paul to get started
Grief Share
GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences—the loss of a loved one. Fr. Paul facilitates this ecumenical 13 week program on Mondays in St. Anastasia’s hospitality area. Fr. Paul will be happy to answer any questions. In addition to the 13 week Grief Share program, we recently have organized a Monthly Grief Share Social Potluck. These typically take place the 4th Thursday of the month and are for anyone of any age who has lost a loved one (spouse, child, parent or friend). Please bring a dish to pass or serve, desserts are always welcomed!
Lectio: Eucharist
Discovering the Mass in the Bible, dig down to the biblical roots of the Eucharist, through its foreshadowing in the miraculous events of the Old Testament, the Gospels, and Apostolic teaching. “The Lamb of God,” “The Bread of Life,” “The Body and the Blood of Christ”… these are phrases we know from the Mass. But do we understand what they mean in the greater and deeper context of Scripture and Church teaching? We’ll discover firsthand how Christ’s Body and Blood are an integral and wondrous part of God’s plan for our salvation. All are welcome.
Lectio: (Mary)
Why is Mary so important to Catholics, and why have so many people been devoted to her over the centuries? In this 8-part series, Dr. Brant Pitre examines what the Old and New Testaments, the life of Christ, and the early Church fathers reveal about the life and identity of Mary.
Lectio (The Case for Jesus)
Lectio (The Case for Jesus) Do you follow Jesus ‘on the way’? Can we trust the Gospels? Do we really know who wrote them? Do the Gospels communicate truth – or fabricated fables? Who is Jesus? Who did Jesus claim to be? Join Dr. Brant Pitre as he draws evidence from both early Christian and non-Christian writings attesting to the authenticity, authorship, and dating of the Gospels, and as he gives an in-depth look at the Gospel accounts of Jesus’s Crucifixion, Resurrection, and the proclamation of Christ’s divinity. Dr. Pitre’s powerful presentation will strengthen your faith so that you can not only stand firm and profess that Jesus truly is “the Christ, the Son of the living God,” but also confidently respond to any skeptics you encounter.
That Man Is You
That Man is You! honestly addresses the pressures and temptations that men face in our modern culture, especially those relating to their roles as husbands and fathers. The program harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive! This program is open to all men, and meets Fridays, 6:00am, in St. Anastasia’s hospitality area.

The Bible Timeline
An In-Depth Exploration of Salvation History The Bible Timeline® study program takes you on a guided journey through salvation history. Presenter Jeff Cavins will show you how fourteen of the Bible’s narrative books tell the biblical story from beginning to end and will give you the keys to understanding the amazing story woven throughout Scripture. In this revolutionary approach to Bible study, The Bible Timeline divides the Bible into twelve color-coded time periods that make the narrative thread easier to follow. You will learn the major people, places, and events of the Bible and discover how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of our Faith. The Bible Timeline will teach you how to read and understand the entire Bible and introduce you to the wonderful narrative of Scripture in a way that will transform your life. Cost for this 24 session course is $50 and pre-registration is required. Please check the weekly bulletin for information on when this program will be in session.
The Chosen
A charismatic fisherman drowning in debt, a troubled woman wrestling with real demons. A gifted publican ostracized by his family and his people. A religious leader struggling with his beliefs. See Jesus through the eyes of those that met him. All are welcome.
