The mission of Common Cup Ministry is to gather and share spiritual and financial resources of area churches into one "Common Cup" so that we may minister to those in need who don't have a church to turn to.

Food Outreach Program

The next Food Outreach will be on July 17 at the Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, then Aug 21 in Glencoe at the Panther Field House. Food Outreach enables individuals and families to receive food and other household products at no cost. Registration is done at the time of distribution. There is no verification needed. Individuals or families are asked to bring a box or laundry basket to pick up food and products. To volunteer to help with distribution, or if you have questions about participation, call Common Cup at 587-2213.

Thank You for Coats

Thank you for the generous donation of coats for our Fall Coat Distribution. The response was wonderful. CCM along with McLeod Co. Social Services and Heartland Community Action Agency is organizing the October distribution. Dates are October 16/17, both in Hutchinson at the fairgrounds and in Glencoe at the PlaMor Ballroom. Parish Nurse Program

Common Cup Ministry has a Parish Nurse Program. The scope for the program is large and the intent is to tailor the program for the needs of the participating parishes. It is anticipated there will be established office hours and access via e-mail and web site as well as face-to-face. Volunteer nurses will have the support and assistance of a program director, Bev Bonte. If you are a nurse and would be interested in sharing some time learning about this program, contact Bev at 234-8344 or director@common-cup.org.

On-call volunteers carry a cell phone and answer calls from people seeking assistance for emergency food and shelter, make appointments with other agencies for them and meet with people at the Hope Center; seek solutions in a gentle and non-judgmental manner while providing a Christian witness; pray and distribute Bibles; use a referral or voucher system. Receive 1 on 1 training on the job until comfortable. Meet over the noon hour the 2nd Tuesday of each month for support and additional training. Contact the office at 234-8344.

Common Cup Ministry is a non-profit organization created by a group of local churches in 2002, to help people with emergency needs. St. Anastasia is one of the founding churches, and Common Cup Ministry is now one of our main outreach ministry programs. St. Anastasia is represented on Common Cup’s Board of Directors and Advisory Council. In addition, several parishioners are on-call volunteers, meeting directly with those requesting assistance, and helping them in any way they can.
