Religious Education Mission

The goal for religious education at St. Anastasia is to encourage and promote a faith that is truly alive for each young person, enlightened through instruction, strengthened by community, family, church and society, and always centered on Jesus and the gospel message. Ongoing faith formation, pre-kindergarten through adulthood is essential. Preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation is an important component.

PRAYER POWER

We all know that prayer can be a powerful thing, but when we are at our darkest moments sometimes the words from our heart escape us. It is then that the words of the common prayers that we memorized as a child come to our aid and give us comfort. The Prek-6 grade RE classes have been working hard on memorizing the 6 most commonly used prayers in our faith. This past week we concentrated on memorizing the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be. This is where we need your help. Calling all parents, grandparents, relatives and friends: Take some time to ask them to say their prayers with you to see how they are doing. Encourage them to keep learning and affirm them for their hard work. Together we can make learning a powerful thing!

THE JOURNEY HAS BEGUN!

We had our first parent meeting for those who are preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist this past weekend. If you were not able to attend, please contact the Religious Education office to get your materials and to go through information that was covered. First Reconciliation will be Mar 2 & 3. First Eucharist will be on April 22.  Keep the children in your prayers as they journey ahead!
