Above-Ground Burial Options

Providing an Alternative for the Future!

Mausoleums and columbariums are permanent above-ground tombs for the dead. Mausoleums have openings called "crypts," and are sized for a full-body entombment. Columbariums have openings called "niches," with a cube size of 11"x11" for an urn/package of cremated remains.

The history of mausoleums goes back to the early years of the church as evidenced by Rome's gallery of tombs in the Catacombs. The mausoleum and columbarium structures of today for St. Anastasia's Cemetery are impressive monuments which are constructed on a concrete foundation that meets strict compliance for endurance and longevity. Each of the structures are built with pre-cast concrete honeycomb-type interior walls and a granite-clad roof and outer walls, and includes opening plates for the final burial.

Why Consider Above-Ground Burial?

There are multiple reasons why above-ground burial is appealing, including:

bullet

Immaculate--clean & dry

bullet

Unaffected by seasonal problems that delay burials, i.e. ground frost or muddy spring thaws

bullet

Prestigious-looking and require little maintenance or groundskeeping labor

bullet

Cost is comparable to in-ground burial (click here to see comparison)

bullet

Resourceful use of limited cemetery acreage
